Your truck or car's AC system is almost completely airtight, but your freon refrigerant is always slowly leaking out. Eventually, a car will lose enough freon so that its air conditioning system will no longer cool effectively. At G & L Automotive II at 12735 S Pulaski Rd we are ready to recharge your AC to help you keep your car or truck's cabin temperature cool.

"Help My AC Only Blows Warm Air!"

New advancements in R134a freon systems means that freon in newer cars doesn't leak out as much as old R12 freon systems. The average new model economy car only leaks about 0.41 ounces of refrigerant per year. Come to G & L Automotive II in Alsip when it's time to recharge your AC freon.

G & L Automotive II's Fast 3 Step Process:
  • Vacuum out all the old refrigerant before refilling it.
  • Add new R134a refrigerant.
  • Pressurize your car's AC system and test for mico-leaks.
"Does G & L Automotive II Have R12 Freon For My Classic Car?"

Unfortunately R12 freon is no longer available. If your car or truck was made before 1994 you must convert your entire AC system to the new R134a standard. This involves replacing dozens of seals and several AC auto parts. R134a is a more highly pressurized and much more efficient refrigerant pound for pound than R12. Most classic car AC compressors and condensers cannot withstand the intense pressure required and choose to add about 25% less freon to accommodate older systems. This means your AC may not cool as well as it used to. Converting your R12 system to R134a is a big job so stop by G & L Automotive II today and talk with our mechanics about getting the job done right. Visit us today at 12735 S Pulaski Rd.

"Is Used Freon Ok?"

Many auto repair shops resell used AC refrigerant. The old freon is cleaned using a specialized recovery machine that removes contaminants. Used freon provided by G & L Automotive II works just as well as new freon after it's cleaned. Accepting used freon is a great way to help minimize the impact freon has on the environment.

Freon gas becomes a liquid when pressurized inside your car's A/C system but returns to its gaseous state as it leaks out. Many drivers in Alsip are completely unaware that they are losing freon until the day when they turn on the car's AC and find only warm air blows out. Call 708-385-3626 and ask any of our auto repair specialists about recharging your car's AC. Stop by our store at 12735 S Pulaski Rd and we will show you the best AC recharging options for your car.

What our clients are saying about us

We have established longterm and stable partnerships with various clients thanks to our excellence in solving their automotive needs!

For the next year, I found this company as a friend of mine told me how they replaced the engine in his truck and he has had no trouble with that engine for over five years. I did start taking my 20 year old Subaru to them and they were able to fix any and all problems I just recently today I got my Mitsubishi back which had a problem in the crankshaft, and I am very happy with the work that was done. I will say this is a group of well trained and honest mechanics when I had my Mitsubishi towed there the tow company told me that if I would let their mechanics work on it, they would take 10% off and I told them I don't know you or your mechanics. I do know George and the mechanics at G&L and I have found them to always be honest and professional doing a good job that last thank you G&L. quotes-image

I came in thinking I needed some major work on my front end suspension. I was sure I'd be hearing words like tie rods and ball joints. It turned out to be a a loose front tire. The lug nuts were not snuggly tightened after a flat repair. The cost was zero!! I was ready and willing to pay for front end work. These guys are amazing. They are very good, HONEST, mechanics. I HIGHLY recommend them!! quotes-image
